Pop-up galleries on both floors showcased 32 recent design grants, and everyone had a chance to hear from the volunteer designers and community members behind these projects. Leverage featured delicious food from 12th Street Catering, craft beer from Yards Brewing Company, and a signature Moscow Mule courtesy of local distiller Boardroom Spirits. Leverage 2017 also included a raffle for three handcrafted pieces from Thos. Moser.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Collaborative’s 2017 Leverage Award to Ballinger, an exceptional partner with a deep history of support for Philadelphia and the Collaborative. Terry Steelman, FAIA, LEED AP, Principal, accepted the award on behalf of Ballinger. The firm’s sustained investment in the Collaborative has translated into design services to support neighborhood economic development projects throughout the city. Nearly thirty Ballinger volunteers have served on seven design grants. See more photos from the evening.
The event raised $92,000—enough to leverage nine preliminary design grants! Thanks to everyone who made Leverage 2017 a success.
