New Mixed-Use Development at Nicetown's Front Door

  • Cutting the ribbon on Nicetown Court II on November 20.

We’re feeling really great about last week’s dedication of Nicetown Court II. Heidi Segall Levy joined Nicetown CDC last week for the dedication of a new, $19 million, mixed-use development on Germantown Avenue next to the historic Wayne Junction train station.

Nicetown Court II will add 50 units of affordable housing to the neighborhood. Development partners Nicetown CDC, Universal Companies, and The Community Builders added 4,500 square feet of retail on the first floor for an iconic restaurant, convenience store, and bakery/coffee shop that will draw both neighbors and commuters to Nicetown’s “Main Street.”

Nicetown CDC began the revival of this stretch of Germantown Avenue with a 2005 conceptual master plan by the Collaborative. We’ll be working with Nicetown CDC on a conceptual design for a sports court and skate park in 2014. Nice!

  • Heidi Segall Levy joins Majeedah Rashid, Chief Operating Office of Nicetown CDC, for the dedication.
