Beth Miller editor for Social Justice + Design issue of AIA's Context

Beth Miller, Collaborative executive director, and Sally Harrison, Associate Professor at Temple University Tyler School of Art, served as guest editors for the spring 2016 issue of Context. The issue is broad in its definition of design and social justice and looks at it through the lens of equity, innovation, and practice.

"It is nearly 50 years since civil rights leader Whitney M. Young, Jr. addressed the AIA Convention," write Beth Miller and Sally Harrison in the Editor's Letter to introducing the issue. "He excoriated our profession for distinguishing itself in 'thunderous silence' and inaction on social issues, especially in the face of profound degradation of urban neighborhoods while most of our country thrived."
