Leverage 2022 Heads Outdoors 

On June 14, 2022, after three years of waiting in anticipation to be in-person again, guests excitedly gathered at the historic site on the banks of the Schuylkill River for a night of dining, drinks, and sparkling conversation. The garden was in full bloom and the energy was alive as our friends explored the site and experienced live band performances by ERA, who beautifully set the tone for the evening.

Guests were welcomed into the Barn to view an exhibition showcasing more than 20 projects taken on by the Collaborative since 2019, and of course, to celebrate these successes with a glass of bubbly. In the main tent, our guests enjoyed a delicious meal courtesy of 12th Street Catering, a fine selection of beer and wine, and to top it off, scrumptious desserts which concluded an already-sweet evening.  

We had the pleasure of hearing one of our board members, Daniel Mita Esq. of Duane Morris LLP, share his words on achieving success in the community design field. He discussed the importance of prioritizing community members and building relationships to strengthen the foundation of development efforts within the Philadelphia region.  

Next, our Executive Director, Tya Winn, took the stage. She praised the work being done within our network of over 1,300 design professionals across more than 25 organizations and shared some heartfelt anecdotes involving her Chicago background and long-standing passion for supporting underserved communities. Our closing speaker, board member and Design Services Co-Chair Evan Wilbert, Principal at Stantec, filled the crowd with feelings of confidence and anticipation regarding future possibilities for how we can expand our network and community reach.  

This year’s proceeds will be used to strengthen the Collaborative’s Core Design Grants program as well as general operations. Again, we give a huge thank you to everyone who helped make Leverage 2022 a grand success!
