Housing/Community Development

AEC Cares

The Collaborative volunteer team set the scope, designed improvements, managed in-kind donations, coordinated prep work, and led a transformative work day to renovate a popular Philly recreation center. AEC Cares sponsors a community service project every year in the host city for the AIA National Convention. The Collaborative partnered with AEC Cares to find the right partner and site— Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and the Athletic Recreation Center—and provide the critical legwork. projectPhiladelphia resulted in renovations to the entrance and lobby, upgrades to the performing arts auditorium, and complete overhauls of the kitchen, after-school art room, and costume room.
