Housing/Community Development

Beacon offers both Sunday worship and a full slate of community programming. Despite that, its building and property are underutilized and its programs do not produce adequate operating income for maintenance and renovations. Through space-sharing, Beacon could fill some big gaps in community services. The Collaborative conducted an existing conditions assessment, provided models for “community hubs,” and illustrated several expansion options and their zoning and building code implications.
