Housing/Community Development

Friends Housing Cooperative

Friends Housing Coop owns 84 units of affordable housing in a quiet, tree-canopied, and diverse “mini-neighborhood” at North 8th and Fairmount. The Collaborative’s conceptual master plan provided a sustainable strategy for much-needed renovations that included new kitchens and bathrooms, insulation to decrease energy usage and reduce sound transmission between stacked units, and accessibility improvements. The plan also offered ideas for improving shared open spaces.
