AMY Northwest Middle School

The Collaborative gathered students, faculty, and other stakeholders to re-envision the concrete schoolyard of this successful magnet middle school. A wide pathway and a welcoming entrance with a trellis will divide the schoolyard into an active zone for basketball and other games and a quieter zone with outdoor classrooms, an edible garden, a cistern, and seating. Rain gardens at the schoolyard’s edges will capture stormwater.
