Open Space

Mt. Airy USA

A mid-century modern library with green but inactive grounds on busy, colonial-era Germantown Avenue offers an untapped opportunity. Based on ideas from Mt. Airy residents, the Collaborative’s volunteer team created a conceptual plan that celebrates existing elements like a historic stone wall and horse trough, and lays the groundwork for an inviting off-street space with moveable chairs and tables, nature play areas, and a terraced lawn amphitheater.
