Community Design Collaborative

Park(ing) Day is an international event when metered parking spaces are transformed into temporary green spaces in cities around the world, including Philadelphia. To celebrate the city’s sixth Park(ing) Day in 2013, the Community Design Collaborative teamed up with the Philadelphia Water Department and set up a three-room schoolhouse at 12th and Filbert Streets. Visitors “soaked up” hands-on knowledge about rivers, stormwater, and the city in our lab, classroom, and all-important lunchroom.
