Center for Architecture and Design

On PARK(ing) Day, an annual international event, over 50 metered parking spaces in Philadelphia are transformed into public parks, reimagined and repurposed to introduce community, creativity and possibility. In 2022, The Center for Architecture transformed it's Wondering Studio modular installation into an interactive design education parklet.

"As designers we are able to shape neighborhoods, and it's important to keep the communities who make up the neighborhood apart of the design process. There is a fine line between revitalization and gentrification. It's important to study the context before we come try to add or change it."

"I was surprised by how rewarding it was to be working on a small project during a pandemic. It was exciting to see how we were able to put together so much information in such a short amount of time."
