Collaborative volunteers engaged youth in the Allegheny West neighborhood in the design of a playful element for the Peirce Elementary schoolyard and the design and building of a “lounge pod” that can be moved to different locations in the neighborhood. Playing for the Future was a partnership between the Collaborative and AIA Philadelphia’s Architecture in Education (AIE) Program and used AIE’s new curriculum, which emphasizes experiential learning.
