“In order to provide the right answer, the designer must ask the right questions.”

2017 - Adam is an architect who brings his whole heart and often his whole firm to Collaborative projects. In considering the design process, he says, “Design, and pausing to think, is everything.  Design impacts every level of human life.  The choices we make create lasting realizations that shape our environments, define our local economies and influence how we interact. Communities live and die by these decisions.

“Design is not only about addressing issues of beauty and expense, but should serve the underlying utility and deeper foundational and social requirements of that community's inhabitants.  In order to provide the right answer, the designer must ask the right questions, and that is often the most overlooked aspect of a quality design.” He adds, “The Collaborative makes strong efforts to create a space where those questions can be asked for and by a community such that time can be provided to create meaningful answers.”

Adam and the volunteer team for Father Judge High School received the Collaborative’s 2016 Outstanding Team Award for exemplary commitment to community design as a firm.
