Why is design an important part of revitalizing communities?
Design can foster community and reinforce a neighborhood's identity. Involving the community in the process gives them a sense of ownership and stewardship for continued involvement in the betterment of the community.

What has been most surprising, rewarding, or fun about your Collaborative experience?
Most fun/rewarding: meeting new people, both in the project team and in the community group/client. It's also very rewarding because those in community groups are always very appreciative of the work we do. And the early, brain-storming phase of any project is always fun.

What do you love most about Philadelphia?
I love that Philadelphia is a large metropolitan city with all the amenities that entails, but also feels like a small town (at least at times), with strong unique neighborhood identities.
